Shauntelle has over 15 years’ experience working in the insurance industry and joined the McCabe Curwood Melbourne team in 2019. Shauntelle acts predominantly for insurers and self-insureds, providing advice on indemnity, liability and resolution strategies on a range of insurance products, claims and disputes, including issues relating to the Insurance Contracts Act (1984), policy interpretation, fraud claims, non-disclosure and misrepresentation and subrogated recoveries.
In addition to being experienced in conducting litigation in all Australian jurisdictions, Shauntelle also worked in the General Insurance team at AFCA (formerly FOS), drafting recommendations and determinations on a spectrum of general insurance disputes, including complex fraud and flood claims.
Having worked for two large international insurers prior to being admitted into practice, Shauntelle has gained a deep understanding of her clients’ business needs and has earned a reputation for her commercial and competitive approach to dispute resolution.
