Paul heads the McCabe Curwood Planning and Environment Group and is recognised as one of Sydney’s most experienced practitioners in planning and environmental law. He is an Accredited Specialist in Planning and Environment Law and has recently been appointed a member of the Specialist Accreditation Planning and Environment Law Advisory Committee.
Prior to being admitted into practice, Paul worked in the areas of town planning, environmental compliance and corporate governance with a large local council. Combining his practical expertise with his technical knowledge, Paul is uniquely positioned to provide well-rounded and cost effective advice to suit individual client needs.
Paul specialises in Land and Environment Court of NSW litigation and provides detailed advice on a broad range of topics. He regularly appears as a solicitor-advocate in development appeals, statutory order appeals, compulsory acquisition matters, valuation cases, injunctive actions, civil enforcement and environmental prosecutions. His practice also extends to conducting regulatory matters and Local Courts and Tribunals such as NCAT and VCAT. In addition, Paul also provides advice in relation to licensed premises.
Paul is also a long standing member of the Local Planning Panels for Northern Beaches, Georges River and Strathfield Councils, which he chairs and appears as an expert member.
