Over the past twenty years’, Kim has worked in the area of employee relations at a national law firm, a global resources company, and the WA State Government. His main areas of practice are industrial relations, human resources, unfair and unlawful terminations, and workplace investigations.
A skilled employment law practitioner, Kim assists clients across a diverse range of sectors including mining and resources, engineering, utilities, education, non-for profit, and the WA State Government.
Kim combines his skills and knowledge in employment law with his previous practical experience as a Human Resources Manager, IR Advisor, Labour Market Economist and Industrial Inspector to provide clients with advice that is timely, direct, professional and pragmatic.
With a specialised interest in complex performance management issues and workplace investigations, Kim also regularly advises on general protection claims, unfair dismissals, enterprise bargaining, and equal opportunity matters.
Discrimination issues and claims in both workplace and non-employment environments, is an area that Kim has developed a strong practice in, particularly in the retail sector where an upward swing on these types of claims is being seen.
He regularly represents clients in the Fair Work Commission and Federal Circuit Court of Australia as well as in various state and federal tribunals as well as conducting mediations and conciliations.
Kim was admitted to practice in 2002 and is a long-term member of the Industrial Relations Society of WA.
