McCabe Curwood opens Melbourne office

Melbourne, 2 April 2019: McCabe Curwood has officially opened their Melbourne office with Principal Benjamin Karalus taking the lead of the group of seven insurance law specialists.

Karalus joins the expanding firm McCabe Curwood with 14 years insurance law experience. He was attracted to the firm as it offers him a chance to “build an office which embodies core values, while providing comprehensive and innovative legal services to the insurance industry.”

Managing Principal of McCabe Curwood Andrew Lacey says that he is thrilled to be formally announcing the Melbourne Office and the addition of the seven new Melbourne members of the McCabe Curwood team.

“Melbourne is the first port of call in our plans of a national expansion. It is an important economic centre for our clients, and we are pleased to be able to offer a permanent on-the-ground solution for Victoria.” Says Lacey.

“We are growing across all areas of business – insurance and commercial, but want to make sure we are building for the right reasons and with the right people.

“It needs to be a good cultural fit and make business sense.” Continued Lacey.

Karalus has stated his team is still growing and it has “considerable experience across all insurance product lines and in advising and representing insurers in all capacities.”

Located in Melbourne, Karalus is joined at McCabe Curwood by Special Counsel, Paul Dalligan, Senior Associates Eugenia Xanthos, Nicole Neufeld, Shauntelle Lim and Lawyers Christina Stoikos and Kristy Craig-Smith.

“The team is made up of passionate, skilled and driven lawyers who have chosen insurance as their area of expertise. That expertise spans the entire insurance spectrum. We are focused on providing innovative solutions to the problems facing insurers in the Australian market.” Says Karalus.
